Teleradiology services have been shown to improve access to health care, particularly in rural areas that may not have a full-time radiologist or emergency physician coverage. Emergency Radiology was founded by a practicing radiologist in May, 2002 and remains radiologist-owned. Since then Erad has expanded to serve radiology groups, imaging centers and hospitals in multiple states.
